Low head loss and a very high bio-film surface make this media ideal for bacterial growth. The Ultima II utilizes this media in an aggregate of the three sizes. This virtually eliminates stacking and packing making this media one of the best available. One cubic foot will provide 750 square feet of usable surface area.
