Construction of Steps
To create steps, the Celtik Step System will make your job
easier and faster, this system is composed of steps and concrete
risers giving stability to the unit.
The first thing to do is establish how many steps you’ll
need.
Each step including the riser and the Capping measures 180 mm
or 7 inches.
Bury the first concrete block so that it sits
flush with the ground, use a Celtik block or a 4 inch or 10 cm
solid concrete block.
Install the concrete riser.
Fill in the back of the riser with crushed
0-3/4 inch or 0-20mm stone and compact with a jumping jack or
vibrating plate.
Spread concrete adhesive.
Lay down a Celtik Step Capping Module over it.
Lay down a 2 or 4 inch or a 5 or 10cm solid concrete block or
a Celtik Block.
Make sure its level. Fill in the back of the block and
compact.
Install the second Celtik riser and repeat the stage of
filling and compacting.
Add a second Celtik Step Capping module, repeat these
operations until you reach the desired height.
If you’re planning to build a wall on one or both sides of
the steps, we recommend you build a vertical wall to facilitate
the installation of the steps. This will give you a fantastic
finish.
